WordPress 4.6 includes several important performance improvements, a handful of nifty new features, and a slew of bug fixes. But, Bootplate theme framework users may be wondering, “Is Bootplate compatible with this latest version of WordPress?” Well, folks, it certainly is.
Developed on Nightly Builds
From the beginning, we’ve been building and maintaining Bootplate on nightly development builds of the WordPress core so we can anticipate any function depreciation or good old fashioned compatibility issues with new versions of WordPress.
That means you’ll find Bootplate has already been tested with and any fixes already made, long before you clicked that scary “Update Now” link in the WordPress Admin nag.
Version 1.8 on the GitHub repo is still squared away. Don’t worry about any changes you might notice to the development branch. All we’ve changed at this point is the “Tested up to” version number in the README file.
If you WERE to find a compatibility issue, we encourage you to comment it here, or create a new Issue on the GitHub repo: https://github.com/jdmdigital/bootplate/issues
In the meantime, rest assured. We got your back.
